VALOR at the XIII European Congress of Entomology

Last week, VALOR was presented at the XIII European Congress of Entomology (ECE 2026), held in Tours, France. The event drew 1,400 entomologists from around the world, who gathered to discuss the latest research on insects' roles in ecosystems, agriculture, and sustainability across a program packed with talks, symposia, and poster sessions.

Throughout the congress, VALOR was represented at the booth of our partner, Pensoft Publishers, where attendees could browse and take home project materials and learn more about VALOR's goals and progress.

The project was also showcased in Pensoft's workshop on science communication in entomology, where it was cited as a strong example of how to turn research into real-world impact. The session covered how to reach different audiences - from academics to policymakers and the public - and what kinds of outputs tend to land best with each. It wrapped up with a look at how to measure impact, along with a few practical tips for getting research noticed.
