VALOR presents research on pollinator cultural values at EASST 2026

On 11 September 2026, VALOR researchers from Jagiellonian University presented their work at the EASST 2026 conference in Krakow, Poland. This allowed the team to present VALOR’s social research on pollinators to an international science and technology studies (STS) audience.

The presentation shared preliminary results from a literature review and interviews. It also introduced the design and methodology of the planned VALOR focal-region workshop on the cultural values of pollinators. Another aim was to explore how the project’s conceptual framework could be expanded to include human–pollinator mutualism and multispecies relations.

The presentation was discussed alongside other STS research on insects at the conference, including work on mosquitoes as pollinators and the RestPoll workshops. This exchange helped place VALOR’s approach within broader STS debates on human–insect relations and multispecies perspectives.

The presentation was well received and generated constructive discussion. The insights will help refine the methodology for the upcoming workshop and the next stages of VALOR’s research.
